Introduction

Welcome to Wellness on The Go! You are most likely opening this book after a long day at work--or perhaps you’re on your lunch hour thinking ‘I wish I had more time to read and relax’. Well, take the opportunity—each one you can get.

The purpose of the book is to teach and empower busy women to get more balance in their life and enjoy every day to the fullest. In this book we will address the facets in your life that require attention to be healthy: Body, mind, soul/spirit and environment.

More and more people are becoming concerned about their health and well-being and most would say that if they could they’d prefer to use preventative, natural, non-invasive ways to do that. Surgeries, prescriptions and chemicals should be considered last resorts.

From spas to health food stories, yoga centers to wellness seminars, the search for health and wellness can get a little confusing sometimes, so how do we know what works and what’s a gimmick? Sometimes the frustration of trying to figure this out just aggravates us and we end up giving up even before we start trying.

Our health and wellness goals are generally the same—to be disease and pain free, have more energy, and achieve enough peace of mind to enjoy life. We have come to understand in the 21st century that being well is not just about shedding a few pounds, it also incorporates our mind and spirit and what we put in them as well. Being well also includes the affect our external environment has on us, and whether we can achieve health and wellness in it. If any one of those areas is off balance, it results in stress, illness, disease, and even sometimes depression.

So where does it all start? It starts with awareness—being aware of what is going on inside of us physically and emotionally. Realize that the tag lines ‘You are what you eat’ and ‘You are what you think’ should be at the core of your motto for living.

We didn’t reinvent the wheel for this book; we’ve taken bits and pieces of crucial information from what we consider the finest health gurus in the world. We’ve compiled this information together in a way like never before, and we are sure that this combination will give you a first-class and whole introduction to health and wellness.

This book will give you tools to put action plans into motion that will shift your bad patterns and behaviors and start to bring balance to your life, hence creating health and wellness. The book will cover topics such as:

  • Having good boundaries;
  • Learning about your core strength;
  • Demystifying good nutrition;
  • Understanding supplements, and
  • Helping you recognize why water is such a pivotal part of health.

Our intent is that you use this book in two ways—as a learning guide and a workbook—to engage in the true meaning of health and wellness.
